Rihanna - ROCKSTAR 101 ft. Slash

"Boots, chaps and cowboy hats…. nothing else matters." - Cowboy boots for the summer

A few minutes ago I was contemplating on what to wear tomorrow. It dawned on me that I haven't worn my cowboy boots in months, and after begging my mom to rush me to the mall at 8:50 p.m. to get those boots (yes 10 minutes before the mall closed) I realized I MUST get at least one more wear out of them before summer really breaks in. I did a little research on how to and how NOT to wear your boots for the summer..

Do's and Dont's (wearevertheweather.com) :

·DO wear them with a lightweight sock. Make sure if you wear longer ones that they don’t peek over your boots.

·DO try to break them in if they are new. There are a few tricks out there where you might risk ruining your boot so your best bet is to use a shoe tree, stuff the shoes with newspapers, or protect your feet during the first few wearings to prevent blisters on your heels, ankles, or toes.

·DO try them on with everything. From dresses to shorts, tailored to casual, these days western boots are slowly becoming as ubiquitous as its western pant counterpart, the jean.

·DON’T wear cowboy boots with any hint of winter (shear ling, furry lining, etc.). The point is to maintain the cool look of the boots while keeping as cool as possible. A smooth and almost light leather work well in warmer weather and don’t make people wanna reach for a Popsicle.

·DO visit vintage and second-hand stores for a great deal on boots that are already broken in for you! Sometimes chain stores like Urban Outfitters has cool vintage finds – find one in your size and you know it’s meant to be!
Below are some images of some cowboy boots I'd wear in the summer and how to wear them...

Vanessa Hudgens pairs her boots with a black romper.
Melody from "The Pussycat Dolls" pairs her boots with a tank top, a spandex skirt, and a really cute fringed bag. Something I'd wear at night.
My fave daytime look, Sienna Miller pairs her boots with a long flowy top, short shorts, and a vest.
Hayden Panettiere wears her boots with shorts and a loose fitting tank. This is more of a simple look.
Nicole Richie pairs hers with sheer tights, a flowy dress, and a cardigan. This should probably be worn on a windy day due to all the layers.

10 yr. old designer - Cecilia Cassini

I recently heard about a 10 year old designer by the name of Cecilia Cassini. Yes, you read correct.. 10 years old! Cecillia received her first sewing machine at the age of 6 and at 10 years old she's the youngest fashion designer in the country (maybe even the world)! Cecillia designs clothes that every little girl can only dream of wearing...in which she calls her clothes "Brilliant Kiddie Couture". I was very excited when I heard about this because its so nice to see other young people making their dreams come true. Hopefully this entry will inspire some of you to pursue your dreams. I really wanted to blog about this because it's just another reminder that you're NEVER to young to make things happen..

"Out with the old & in with the new!"

I was cleaning out the 100's of pictures I have in my computer and found this. I'm thinking I took this around November. Anyways, I love the skirt which I ordered from Forever XXI, my yellow scoopneck I got from H&M which is sooo comfy, and the boots I got from Weatseal ($50). Definitely some of my favorite pieces of the year...

"Life's a Beach" - Celeb Beach Style.

I was doing my usual "check up" on teenvogue.com since i've been too busy and lazy to renew my subscription and let me say...ladies, it is time to put down the hot cheetos and grandma cookies & pick up the fruit bowls and salads! I cannot wait for summer 2010 to be here for one reason... to pick out a hot bathing suit and show off my body i've worked for all year! This year it's all about retro one pieces, bold prints, bright/neutral colors, pin up looks, and mixing and matching! Below are some of my favorite looks..

Rihanna

Whitney Port

Lorraine Nicholson

Vanessa Hudgens

Teyana Taylor

L.Vuitton iPad Case

For those of you who want to travel with your new iPad in style, Louis Vuitton has created 2 different cases for the iPad. You have a choice between the signature Louis Vuitton Monogram or the Black and Gray Damier Graphite print. Both will come in a sleeve case which will allow for the iPad to be carried with ease and protection. The ONLY downfall of these new LV iPad cases, is that it won’t be in stores until 2011. But, it’s definitely worth the wait !
